Parliament questions 100,000 fee for free Yellow fever vaccine

Yellow feverThe ministry of health has protested the fees kampala capital city Authority is  charging for Yellow Fever Vaccination. This as reports show that KCCA clinic charges 100,000 shillings from each person to be vaccinated against  yellow fever to get a yellow fever card for travel. The minister of state for primary health care Sarah Opendi after members of parliament grilled her  over the matter, wandered how KCCA is charging 100,000 shillings from people for yellow fever vaccination when the vaccines were given free of charge by government to the Authority.

She says that the ministry of health is investigating the matter further and  after examining the executive Director Jennifer Musisi Semakula over this issue  will make a report to parliament. She also asked members of parliament to follow up mama kits in their areas so as mother are not forced buy them because they are free of charge.
