private sector appreciates govenment

The private sector commends government for strides attained so far in easing the cost of doing business and ensuring that Uganda becomes the number one trading destination.

The Executive Director Private Sector Foundation Uganda Gideon Badagawa points out introduction of an official e-registry which houses all information needed in starting up a business and elimination of local government tax for traders moving goods from different parts of the country.

Badagawa adds that setting up a business licensing reform committee and putting emphasis on improving the country’ s infrastructure critical in facilitating the flow of trade are some of the government efforts in easing the cost of doing business.

He however urges parliament to also play its role by passing bills and policies after ascertaining their effect on the country’s economy.
