The permanent secretary for the ministry of gender labour and social development Christine Guwatudde Kintu has called upon both private and government sectors to work together in order to expand job market.
Speaking at a workshop on the implementation of labour laws Guwatudde said that the biggest challenge of Uganda is lack of employment.
She however said that unemployment in Uganda cannot be fought by only government but also private sector.
Guwatudde also called upon employers to work towards workers motivation in order to improve productivity.
She said that Uganda is ranked last in productivity among all the east African countries due to laxity among the employers.
Guwatudde said that employers should spend much of their time improving working conditions and paying workers appropriately.
