PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT OFFICER, INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT JOB at CTO

This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established international organisation focused on capacity building in information and communication technologies. We are looking for a high achiever with a passion for international development and a strong interest in telecommunications or broadcasting.

 

The role:

To initiate, develop and implement training programmes in line with the overall training and capacity building unit, including:

  • Act as customer account manager for training programmes;
  • identify, process and budget training requirements in compliance with internal procedures and targets;
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of approved projects, including; recruitment/identification of delegates, experts, facilitators and other resources persons for each projects;
  • Ensure provision of all logistical on-the-day project requirements;
  • Report on key project issues;
  • Maintain a training quality control system;
  • Provide customer support as needed for pre- and post-event requirements;
  • Draft and submit quarterly activity reports;
  • Maintain an alumni of past delegates;
  • Maintain a database of ICT Faculty of (training) Experts;
  • Monitor QoS in CTO training portfolio, including periodic field visits;
  • Oversee periodic and an annual evaluation of CTO trainers;
  • Help to match demand and supply of ICT training needs in the Commonwealth;
  • Initiate, develop and implement marketing and promotions for CTO training;
  • Assist and facilitate logistics for CTO training events, including on-site management, and;
  • Provide additional assistance to CTO travel and logistics as and when required.

Account Management

 

  • Liaise with the network of CTO clients in member-organisations on the development and implementation of training as well as training-related projects i.e. consultancies, research;
  • Improve upon customer service levels provided to members aiming to retain members within the programme;
  • Day-to-day management of assigned projects including client and supplier management;
  • Maintain individual project files ensuring timely submission of project completion reports by suppliers and maintain details of consultant and participants’ profile;
  • Assist the Programme Manager to expand agreed PDT courses and thereby to generate revenue;
  • Assist the Programme Manager in the strategic planning and development of the existing portfolio of courses offered to members;
  • Assist the Programme Manager to explore, plan and implement distance learning programmes and for CTO to create a distance learning platform;
  • Maintain client accounts ensuring timely invoicing and tracking account receivables and payments;
  • Assist in the preparation and dispatch of marketing material for the Programme department, and;
  • To assist in any other aspect of the CTO’s work as required by the Senior Manager PDT, Director or the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Essential Competencies

  • A minimum of a 2:1 university degree or equivalent, ideally in an ICT-related subject;
  • Project management;
  • Customer account management;
  • Telemarketing ;
  • IT: MS Office, especially MS Access, and;
  • Excellent writing skills.

What’s on offer
