Sekikubo urges Kutesa to resign

The MP for Lwemiyaga County in Sembabule district, Theodre Sekikubo has asked Uganda’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Sam Kuteesa to retire from politics soon if Kuteesa wants to remain a respected person in Uganda.

Sekikubo says Kuteesa, 61, should accept that he is growing old and he should give a chance to other younger people to hold leadership positions.

Addressing journalists at Parliament today morning, Sekikubo said Kuteesa has over stayed in politics. The MP says it is now time for Kuteesa to leave politics and young people takeover from him.

Sekikubo was responding to statements made by Kutesa on Wednesday that he is not planning to retire from politics soon.

Kuteesa the MP for Mawogola county in Sembabule district said those who think he is getting old are mistaken. The minister said he is only maturing in politics.

Kuteesa joined politics in 1980 when he was elected to represent Mbarara north in Parliament. He has also represented Mawogola in Parliament since 1996.
