Singer Jose Chameleon on hunger strike

East African cerebrated singer Dr. Jose Chameleon stormed the Tanzanian embassy on Kagera Road in Kampala and pitched camp outside the embassy offices bringing work around the embassy to a stand still.

The singer was demanding for the release of his passport. He vowed not to eat food and to sleep at the embassy offices until the Tanzanian authority returns his passport.

Chameleon was dressed in a blue garment on top and blue jeans while his guards had a mattress, and a yellow jerrycan and guitar.

Chameleone told journalists that on July 8, a certain Tanzanian promoter identified as Eric Shigongo stole his passport and two others belonging to his friends Sulaiman Kalisa and Kibalama Denis. The incident took place at Atriums Hotel in Kinondoni, Dar-es-salam, in the republic of Tanzania.

Groups of Ugandans on hearing that Chameleon was on strike stormed the embassy offices and police was called in to calm the situation. The inspector general of police  Lt. Gen. Kale Kaihura had to come to convince Chameleone to go with him and solve the matter amicably.
