Six family members buried in one grave

Six family members in Kihanga village, Rukoni Sub-county, Ntungamo were buried in one grave on Thursday.

Five of these people were stubbed to death by their father who later hanged himself.

The mother of these five sons who killed by their father, Annette Besigye says she had gone to attend the burial of a villagemate when news broke out that her husband, Johnson Besigye had committed suicide.

This woman wailed loudly but there was nothing to save, the husband and her children had gone.

The deceased man’s younger brother, Yusuf Akankwatsa, says his older brother Besigye reportedly killed his children aged between two to 13 years because he had a mental problem.

Annette Besigye confirms that her late husband had a mental problem but he was taken to nearby born again church leaders who prayed for him and he got fine.

The widow (Annette) is also a born again Christian. She wonders what got her husband to end his life and the lives of their only children.

Annette identifies the dead children as Joshua Nuwabiine,2, Andrew Niwasibwe, 13, Albert Taremwa, 11, Bernatte Ashaba, 9 and Marvin Ategeka, 5.

The post-mortem report indicates that dead children were strangled and their heads were hit with an axe and each was stabbed in the stomach.
