soroti fying school staff on strike

The Member of Parliament for Kasilo county Elijah Okupa has petitioned
parliament demanding that it prevails on government to urgently
provide salaries for East African Civil Aviation academy (Soroti
flying school) instructors.
on behalf of the students of the flying school, Okupa said for two
weeks now, the students have not been getting training since the
instructors are on strike pending salary payments.
The petitioners according to Okupa also want government to provide for
facilities for the training of engineers and money for another plane
to replace the one which crashed recently.

Soroti municipality MP Mike Mukula also expressed concern that
training of students of private commercial licensing now takes eight
years instead of 18 months due to inadequate facilities.
