Sources and importance of vitamins

 

 

Vitamins are essential to life and needed relatively in small amounts compared to the basic nutrients namely water, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.

According to Dr. Aisha Lukwago of Clinic on Aids Research, vitamins prevents night blindness and other eye problems and enhances immunity and repairs the mucus membranes.

Vitamins are important in the formation of bones and teeth. They aids in fat storage, protects against colds, flu and infections of kidney, bladder, lungs and acts as anti-oxidant and it is a well known wrinkle eliminator.

Less of vitamins in the body causes dry hair and skin, poor growth, night blindness, insomnia fatigue and skin disorders.

The sources of vitamins in our bodies are liver, fish, green and yellow fruits, water melon, vegetables, carrots and garlic among others.
