Abelrahim El-Siddig, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Sudan Embassy in Kampala has assured Ugandans that Khartoum is a partner in the fight against LRA rebels.

He says his government (Sudan) has been assisting Uganda Peoples Defence Forces in the fight against LRA rebels headed by Joseph Kony since 2002.

El-Siddig in a news statement today said Sudan recently hosted Juba peace talks so this proved that Khartoum is a partner in the fight against LRA terrorists.

He says claims by some officials in Kampala that Sudan was responsible for LRA activities in 1990s are irresponsible.
