Suspended MPs take case to constitutional court

 

 

 

The opposition MPs who were suspended on Wednesday from parliament have refused to apologise to the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga.

The Deputy Speaker suspended the five MPs on opposition side over what she termed as ‘gloss misconduct.’

The MPs Kadaga suspended are Odonga Otto (Aruu county),   Beatrice Atim Anywar (Woman MP Kitgum), Christine Abia (Woman MP Arua district), Geoffrey Ekanya (Tororo Municipality) and Michael Ocula Nyeko (Kilak county).
The acting leader of opposition, Kassiano Wadri (Terego) says  the suspended MPs will the constitutional court over their suspension.  

The Deputy Speaker is ready to reserve the suspension if the MPs apologise to her in writing.
