In our first health briefing on anemic persons, we told you that the recommended food for people suffering from anemia are organic calf’s liver, green leafy vegetables, leeks, cashews, cherries, strawberries, dried fruits, figs, kelp, and eggs among others.

But this time our concentration dwells much on the causes and symptoms of anemic persons. The symptoms of anemia can mimic those symptoms of other disorders, so patients need to get a thorough physical examination. The symptoms of anemia are fatigue, general body weakness, shortness of breath after mild exertion, headaches, dizziness or fainting, difficulty concentrating, pale skin, lips and nail beds, cold extremities, frequent illnesses and cessation of menstruation.

Every cell in human body gets a large portion of its energy from oxygen. in healthy persons cells receive supply of oxygen from Hemoglobin. The causes of anemia are :poor diet e.g. deficient in iron, folic acid, vitamin A, B2, B6, C, B12, eating disorders e.g. anorexia, nervosa, bulimia, acute blood loss, chronic blood loss, pregnancy, inherited blood disorders, poor digestion and absorption-law stomach acid.
