The session was opened by President Museveni on January 25^th 2012.  President Mwai Kibaki of Kenya addressed the same EALA session on Wednesday January 25^th.

The East African Legislative Assembly meeting is sitting in Kampala from January 24^th to February 2^nd, this year.

The meeting is being presided over by its speaker Abdirahin Abdi. To day the members have discussed inter– university council ofEast Africabill and yesterday they discussed the East African Community Trans boundary ECO-system management bill 2010.
