Alliance for Campaign Finance Monitoring (ACFIM) has released a report which has ranked NRM as the highest spender on elections with about 100 billion Uganda Shillings.

ACFIM ReportAccording to the report, NRM spent over UGX.30 billion on party primary, UGX. 19 billion on delegates conference, UGX.10 billion to popularize sole candidate, among other. The report has however ranked FDC in the second position with UGX.1.512 billion Uganda shilling, on the organizing of delegates conference, nomination of Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye, campaigns trails among others. It has as well ranked President Museveni as the biggest spender with 91% followed by Amama Mbabazi with 4% and Kiiza Besigye with 3%
The National Coordinator ACFIM, Muguzi Henry, said Parliament must amend the presidential and Parliamentary Election Act to have punitive action on any candidate who engages in voter bribery.
