Appearing before the Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Mary Kainza, Kananura has denied the charges and has been sent back to Luzira Prison until January 29^th.

According to his lawyer Geoffrey Nangumya, they intend to file a bail application when he next returns to court.

Kananura who is on remand at Luzira prison on charges of murdering his employee now also faces fresh charges of fraud.

He is alleged to have falsely obtained 340 million shillings from SEMA Properties’ Managing Director Haji Sulait Semakula.

Semakula claims that he paid the money to Kananura for a caterpillar but it has never been delivered despite repeated demands.

Prosecution alleges that Kananura between 19^th November and 23^rd December 2011 while in Kampala obtained 340 million shillings from Haji Sulait Semakula for the said transaction which was never completed.
