Uganda is blessed among African countries because it is the home for most of the world wonders in Africa. One of the seven wonders in Africa is Nile River. River Nile starts in Uganda. The minister for Tourism Miria Mutagamba says that Uganda is recognised internationally (read tourism world) because it is a ‘must reach destination.’ River Nile was named one of the seven wonders in Africa in February 2013.

The seven wonders project in Africa was started by Dr. Phillip Imler in 2008. The doctor says that he wanted these wonders identified and protected for the future generation.

The other seven natural wonders in Africa are Mt. Kilimanjaro. Mountain Kilimanjaro is the tallest standing mountain in Africa. The Red Sea, Sahara Desert, Okavango Delta (found in Botswana), and Serengeti migration are also part of the seven wonders in Africa. Serengeti was included on the list because of its attraction to wild animals. Millions of wild animals every year migrate to Serengeti.

RABIES refers to as fatal viral infection which is transmitted to humans through the bite of rabid domestic animals like dogs, or wild animals such as foxes.

In most cases symptoms of rabies take 10 days to three months to show out, but the symptoms may vary from one week to a year, depending on the site of the bite and the rabies viral load in the human body.

Ebola is caused by an infection. These are types of the Ebola in humans: Ebola-Zaire, Ebola-Sudan, and Ebola-Ivory Coast. The origin, locations, and natural habitat of the Ebola disease are still unknown. But researchers suspect that it lives in animals.

The known first case of Ebola in the world occurred in the Zaire (currently Democratic Republic of Congo near river Ebola) in 1976.

Ebola is suspected to be contracted through direct contact with jungle animals. Ebola first broke out in Uganda in 2000 and it killed 170 people.  Among the people died of Ebola that time included Dr Matthew Lukwiya, who was a medical superintendent at Lacor Hospital, in northern Uganda.

Ebola again broke out in Masindi in Uganda and it killed five people.  Again in November 2007 in Bundibugyo District, Ebola broke out and it killed 37 people including Dr. John Kule of International Medical Group. In May 2011, an outbreak of Ebola occurred in Luwero District, and two people died among them a 12-year-old girl who died shortly after being admitted at Bombo Military Hospital.
