Large groups of civilians have been overheard cursing present Museveni’s military regime.

Many of the civilians at theBugandaroad court wished Museveni hell and Besigye all the good things on earth. Asuman says that the police will continue to break down assemblies by opposition leaders.

Shock and grief befell on patients as most of Uganda hospitals faces a shortage of tuberculosis drugs, an insider in Uganda’s ministry of health told our news informers today.

The monitoring and evaluation officer with Coalition for Health Promotion and Social Development (HEPS Uganda) also says that the shortage of tuberculosis drugs has lasted for the last four months.

The doctors at Mulago hospital told us that they realise the shortage but there is little they can do about the problem unless the ministry of health and the government comes in.

A source names some of the health centres and hospitals that have run out of tuberculosis drugs as Jinja Hospital, Walukuba health centre IV, Entebbe Hospital, Makerere University Hospital, Mbarara Teaching Hospital, Gulu Regional referral Hospital, Lalogi health centre IV and Nsawo health centre IV among others.

The Executive Director of Gulu Regional Hospital, Dr. Nathan Onyaci confirmed the shortage of tuberculosis drugs in Gulu and said many patients were lacking treatment due to the shortage.

The lead pharmacist in Jinja Hospital, John Kizito also confirms that there has been a delay in the distribution of tuberculosis drugs.

The Ministry of Health’s Permanent Secretary, Asuman Lukwago also confirmed the shortage and added that the National Drug Stores is doing whatever is possible to restock the drugs. Some of the drugs needed in the treatment of TB are Ethambitol, Isoniazial, Rifampicin and Pyranamide.

The world has mourned an American man who reportedly died of cocaine overdose in Uganda’s capital city Kampala. Jeff Rice died over the weekend and a postmortem report issued today indicated that he died of suspected cocaine overdose. America is one of the countries in the world that fights against the use of cocaine and it’s a shock that one of its citizens has died of suspected cocaine overdose.

Police spokesman, Asuman Mugyenyi says that results from laboratories indicated that there was too much concentration of cocaine in the deceased’s stomach. Mugyenyi says that in the beginning police suspected Rice to have died of food poisoning.

Rice was a freelance producer for a reality TV show dubbed ‘The Amazing Race.’ He was found dead in a Kampala hotel room while his production assistant, Catherine Fuller was unconscious in another room.

The Amazing Race TV show is a reality television game where a team of people competes with another to arrive first at a certain destination. The reality TV show is broadcast on a number of television stations in different parts of the world including Uganda.

The rally was being organised by the Activists for Change (A4C) members. The venue where the rally was meant to take place is surrounded by soldiers and policemen.

The coordinator of A4C, Mathias Mpuuga has told journalists that the police told them that it cancelled the rally due to security reasons.

Our reporters in the area report that   there is heavy deployment in Katwe and the nearby areas. The spokesperson of police Asuman Mugyenyi says that they have intelligence information that some elements of opposition leaders were planning to use the rally to disrupt peace.

Police spokesman Asuman Mugyenyi has warned Ugandans against getting involved in activities of false prophets.

He says many people have lost their money and lives under the activities of false prophets who disguise as born again pastors.

Mugyenyi says that some witchdoctors camouflage as pastors and discourage the sick persons to shun hospitals. In the process some lose their lives.

His remarks come after a 26 year old man who yesterday collapsed dead inside Christians of Deliverance Power Church in Luweero district.

The church is led by so called prophet Steven Yiga. The police identified the deceased as Isaac Lubega, a resident of Namukago village in Nakasongola District.

Lubega according to the doctors’ report was suffering from malaria and the false prophet lied to him that he was suffering from demonic attacks.
