Uganda lawyers go to Oslo over terrorism

Uganda criminal lawyers have gone to Oslo, Norway to attend a terrisom case against Anders Brevik’s.

The lawyers Samuel Muyizzi and Caleb Alaka would be in Oslo between 14^thApril to 23^rd April 2012.

The terrorism case is against Anders Breivik’s attack of the 22^nd July 2011 at the government buildings in Oslo and shootings at Utoya Island in Norway which claimed over 70 lives where the Uganda Young Democrats’ (UYD) Samuel Muyizzi and Ritah Nansubuga narrowly escaped death.

Samuel Muyizzi who will attend as a witness and victim will be accompanied by his attorney Caleb Alaka. The trial which begins on 16^th April, 2012, is expected to take over 10 weeks.

KCCA demands ushs950m as costs for case against UTODA

Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) is demanding 950 million shillings as compensation costs and damages for the case against UTODA.

The KCCA lawyers led by Caleb Mugisha and Robert Kwanza have computed the figures of the money they want UTODA to cough to them.

They sent the demand note to UTODA lawyer Abbas Bukenya and copied it to the high court judge Charles Mwanguhya who presided over the case.

The development has come at a time when KCCA has taken over the control of both the Old and New Taxi Parks after High Court in Kampala ruled that the case UTODA had filed against KCCA was erroneously filed as an application for judiciary review.

The court advised UTODA to file an ordinary suit to establish the validity of UTODA’s contract.

UTODA has managed Old and New taxi parks since 1993 when it first signed its first contract with Kampala City Council now KCCA.

Its contract expired on October 31, 2011.

Lawyer Caleb Alaka, Jackie Chandru now hot item

We suspect that things have started becoming hotter between Caleb Alaka and singer Jackie Chandru. The lawyer was seen last Saturday night during Chandiru’s Swagger night show at Club Rouge.

Chandiru and the lawyer hugged each other live on stage before Alaka resorted to cigars. Alaka is a celebrity in the legal world but he is now a new entrant in entertainment world.

We have been told also that Alaka finds it hard to stay outside at night clubs and many times he leaves Chandru and goes home.

Chandru was also overheard telling her pals that her ultimate dream is to have Alaka officially as husband and wife. We are told that Chandiru has started telling whoever wants to listen that she has to intoroduce Alaka to her parents in Arua this year.

Michael Ross kisses Caleb Alaka’s girl friend

Terrible: Singer Michael Ross reportedly kissed his fellow singer, Jackie Chandiru live on stage when her hubby Caleb Alaka was reportedly in ‘class’ of Club Rouge.

We have been told that Ross kissed Chandiru without knowing that her hubby was around. The kiss Ross gave Chandiru looked like an enchroachment on Alaka’s territory.

Singer Chandiru looked so excited when Michael Ross kissed her. We are also told that Alaka looked comfortable when Ross kissed his Chandiru.

However we suspect that Ross’ kiss to Chandiru will have an explanation when the female singer returns home to meet the celebrated lawyer. We also here that Ross has apologised to Alaka and the lawyer sounded no problem.
