Uganda’s leading and renowned scholar professor Mohmood Mamdani has said Ugandan opposition is too weak and it cannot takeover poor from the ruling government. The scholar says that for any meaningful change of government to take place inUgandathe people need to be willing to go on the streets in large numbers on a daily basis and demonstrate.

The professor however says this cannot happen because most Ugandans are after making money. He says that Ugandans, especially the middle class cannot leave their businesses and demonstrate on daily basis.

Mamdani also says thatUganda’s opposition cannot use protests to take over power because the sitting government doesn’t respect the right of people to protest and it is not resorting to dialogue.

Ugandapolice and other security organs many times use live bullets, tear gas and torture to break down protests. In the process many unarmed protesters have been shot dead and scores of others wounded.

This may sound a little bit strange but very true. After spending five years in the eighth parliament, former Lubaga South MP, Suzan Nampijja cannot drive a car.

Despite owning very many expensive cars, we have reliably been informed that she has never driven any of them herself.

Our informers found out this yesterday on Kampala road after they found her seated in Ndejje Driving School vehicle learning to drive.

Our reporters tried to wave to her but the former MP could not even lift her hand to respond to them. She has even lost weight ever since she lost her re-election bid.

We cannot tell exactly who the mafias in the government are but the presidential press secretary Tamale Mirundi insists that mafias now are pressuring president Museveni to sack him.

Sources at statehouse have informed us that the so called mafias have already told Museveni that it is better to sack Mirundi alleging that it is the Presidential Press Secretary promoting hate campaign between Buganda and the central government.

Reports indicate that Mirundi no longer freely mixes up with top government officials. Recently Mirundi was also overheard telling pals that mafias were on his neck.

When contacted some of the ministers said that Mirundi has a problem of rubbishing government officials whom he thinks are not his friends. “That’s why some of ministers fight him,” this ministerial source said.
