This comes amid reports of a looming financial crisis at the authority requiring the introduction new taxes to fill the gap.

KCCA spokesperson Peter Kawuju says much as they have to hit the 75 billion annual revenue target, introducing new taxes is not one of the sought avenues to achieve this.

He says the authority is instead focusing on widening the tax base in Kampala rather than introducing new taxes.

The authority last year faced a shortage in its revenue collections of about 5 billion shillings and several activities were halted.

The political wing led by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago had suggested a cut in the authority’s expenditure like slashing of staff salaries so as to contain the situation and also rejected any idea of introducing new taxes.

Kick boxer Moses Golola’s promoter, Patrick Kanyomozi has denied rumours inKampalathat he ran away with the gate collections in the recent fight between Golola andHungary’s Andras Nagy.

Golola’s promoter told investigators at Kibuli police barracks inKampalatoday that he did not run away with millions ofUgandashillings as it was recently reported in the media.

Golola’s brother, Pastor Evans Mayambala, recently told journalists inKampalathat all the gate collections in a fight between Golola and Hungaria’s Andras Nagy in which the Ugandan kick boxer lost to the Hungarian was stolen by his promoter Patrick Kanyomozi.

However the accused says that he handed over all the gate collections to the persons concerned and whoever wants to know who he gave the money must contact him.
