Internships at the IAEA: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) accepts a limited number of interns each year.

The internships are awarded to persons studying toward a university degree or who have recently received a degree.

The purpose of the programme is:

  • To provide interns with the opportunity to gain practical work experiences in line with their studies or interests, and expose them to the work of the Agency and the United Nations as a whole;
  • To benefit the Agency´s programmes through the assistance of qualified students specialized in various professional fields.

The duration of internships is normally not less than three months and not more than one year. However, a minimum of one month is also accepted.

Internship Application Eligibility Criteria:

In order to be eligible for the internship programme, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least two years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of their first degree.

Individuals may apply up to two years after the completion of their bachelor´s, master´s, or doctorate degree.

Rule of Law Masters Scholarships: The Middle East Rule of Law Masters Scholarships Program (MEROL) offers fellowships for graduate study in the United States leading to masters degrees. Eligible fields include law (LLM), public policy / public administration, media / communications studies, and gender / women’s studies.

The program aims to assist in the creation of a critical mass of reform-minded professionals in the Middle East working in fields crucial to the development and sustainability of open societies.

In conceiving of the foundations of the “Rule of Law” to include the healthy functioning of various public sectors beyond law itself, MEROL represents an extension of the Open Society Foundations’ Palestinian Rule of Law Program (PROL). Since 2003, the PROL program has supported over 50 LLM fellowships for Palestinian lawyers who are now engaged in law reform, teaching, and the development of a Palestinian rule of law infrastructure.

Funded by the Open Society Foundations and host partner universities, and administered by the Open Society Foundations, the program supports Middle Eastern students from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and Iraq who demonstrate both academic excellence and strong leadership potential.

Ten MA awards in the fields listed above are available annually. Five LLM (Masters of Law) awards are available annually.

Grantees agree to live in their home countries for at least two years upon degree completion in the United States.

Law Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be legally resident in Egypt, Jordan , Iraq, Lebanon, or Syria at the time of application
  • Demonstrate an excellent academic record and have an advanced degree (minimum: bachelor’s)
  • Display impressive civil society leadership potential
  • Prove through testing and interviews strong English language ability (minimum TOEFL score of 480)
  • Be able to begin the program in August or September
  • Be able to receive and maintain a U.S. J-1 visa
  • Participate in an intensive academic writing program prior to departure to U.S.
  • Commit to returning to the home country upon degree completion

Law Scholarship Guidelines

The law fellowship provides:

  • Tuition and mandatory university fees
  • Monthly stipend for room, board, and living expenses
  • Transportation to/from the U.S.
  • Accident and sickness insurance during program
  • Funds for educational materials
  • Funds for professional development
  • An intensive academic writing program before starting at host universities

The fellowship does Not provide:

  • The option to choose university placement

Full Scholarships for Dundee Research LLM Program: Dundee University School of Law in Dundee, Scotland is inviting applications for two full scholarships for its research LLM program.

According to the law school, successful applicants will be law graduates who have obtained at least a good 2:1 honours degree or equivalent and can show commitment to pursuing postgraduate research.

The LL.M. can be taken on a full-time basis over 12 months or on a part-time basis over 24 months.

The program incorporates research skills courses, which are designed to assist in the completion of the 30-40,000 word thesis.

Research students may also audit taught LL.M. modules.

Dundee Law School also offers a number of taught LL.M. programs.

The scholarship application deadline is August 31.

World Health Organization Internship Program: WHO‘s Internship Programme provides a wide range of opportunities for students to gain insight into the work of WHO.

Every year a limited number of places for internships are available.

Internship Application Eligibility Criteria:

  • · Applicants must be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) both at the time of application and during the internship.
  • · Applicants pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages.
  • · Must have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree. Undergraduates (for instance, students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree) are not eligible to apply.
  • · A minimum of 20 years of age.
  • · Possess a first degree in a public health, medical or social field related to the technical work of WHO.
  • · Fluent in the working language of the office of assignment

Internship Application Dates:

  • · Summer (May to October).
  • · Winter (November to April).

OPEC Fund Scholarship Award: The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) is pleased to announce its Scholarship Award to support undergraduate students from developing countries in pursuit of higher education.

Through its scholarship scheme, OFID aims to help highly motivated, highly driven individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of advanced professional or graduate training.

The winner will receive a scholarship of up to $100,000, spread over a maximum of two years, toward the completion of a Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an accredited educational institution, starting in the autumn of the academic year.

To be eligible the candidate must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Must be between the ages of 23-32 at the time of submitting his/her application.
  • Must be a graduating student with a Baccalaureate from a four-year, accredited college/university, or its equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 rating system, or its equivalent.
  • Must be matriculated at an accredited university for the upcoming academic year starting September, and must maintain full-time status for the duration of the Masters Degree.
  • Must be a national of a developing country
  • Must select a subject of study that pertains to OFID’s core mission, such as: economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment (desertification), or other related science and technology fields.

  • Must be a graduating student with a Baccalaureate from a four-year, accredited college/university, or its equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 rating system, or its equivalent.
  • Must be matriculated at an accredited university for the upcoming academic year starting September, and must maintain full-time status for the duration of the Masters Degree.
  • Must be a national of a developing country
  • Must select a subject of study that pertains to OFID’s core mission, such as: economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment (desertification), or other related science and technology fields.

This fellowship is intended for scholars with citizenship in an African country who seek to obtain an advanced degree or specialized training in an area of study related to human origins research.

This award is for a program of approved special training and/or advanced training towards an MA, PhD, or equivalent and is limited to two years of support.

Applicants must be prepared to demonstrate:

  • Affiliation and/or employment with an institution in their home country.
  • Provisional acceptance (or evidence of application) to the host institution.
  • Financial assistance from the host institution.
  • Intention to return and work in the home country upon completion of training.

Eligibility:

Only scholars with citizenship in an African country are eligible.

The award is limited to $12,000 per year for a duration of two years.

Baldwin Fellowships may be used to cover tuition, travel, living expenses, student fees, insurance, books, and other relevant categories of expenditure.
