Senior religious leaders attending the launch of the Regional peace and stability forum in Mbarara

Religious leaders in the country are being advised to strongly desist from engaging in partisan politics as the country moves towards the 2016 general elections with the strong call geared towards avoiding conflict of interest and misleading the followers.

Speaking at the launch of the Regional Peace and Stability forum today in Kampala, the Arch Bishop emeritus of the Seventh day Adventist Uganda, who doubles as the chairperson council of the elders for the Inter Religious Council of Uganda, Msgr.Charles Kasibante and the Imam of Ghadafi mosque Sheik Ali Shiwuyo pointed out the need to think about reconciling parties that are aggrieved and always teach followers their respective responsibilities mentioning participating in the process and respecting the rules of the nation and their respective parties and organization for the nation to have a peaceful electoral process.

The forum is going to be in charge of ensuring that as the country goes through the electoral process, all the parties and the population is moving in harmony to avoid throwing the country in turmoil which happened in Kenya and Burundi.

However, the council is calling on all religious leaders to always preach messages of peace, unity and reconciliation to the believers as the only channel to a peaceful electoral process.

The ongoing wrangles between Ms Musisi and the Kampala district land Boss Yusufu Nsibambi who is also a prominent lawyer in town ranges from the land in Kampala which is so prime that Ms Musisi wants to give to her bosses without following the proper procedure of the area land committee more so in a fraudulent manner that a man of Nsibambi’s caliber cannot accept.

We are told that Jenifer now opts to change the whole administration of the committee so as to bring in rubberstamp administrators whom she can influence upon decisions of her bosses. Upon realization of this, the lord mayor of Kampala, Erias Lukwago quickly intervened to give Nsibambi an office so as to form a solid frontline of professionals against Ms Jenifer Musisi.
