Daudi Migereko

The opposition parties and individual politicians have been warned against dragging cultural institutions into politics during 2011 general elections.

The Chief Whip of National Resistance Movement (NRM), Daudi Migereko has told journalists today in Kampala that the ruling party has information that some opposition political parties are preparing to use the influence of traditional institutions to win 2011 elections.

He says the government will not allow any individual politician or any political party to use the name of Kabaka, Buganda kingdom or any other cultural institution in Uganda in a bid to win 2011 polls. Migereko says the constitution bars traditional institutions from taking part in politics.
