]]> The MP for Manjia county in  Bududa district who has been the former state minister for Northern Uganda David wakiikona has called for immediate action on the land slides in Bududa.

Addressing journalists at parliament Wakiikona said that landslides are of a major threat to the area and therefore a need for quicker intervention.

He says that people are still in the mountains and the population is increasing at the highest rate and he added that government should  find a way of limiting people to occupy this mountain because it is dangerous to their lives.

Wakikona also said that government may end up applying force on the people in order to have them leave the areas which are prone to such disaster.

He says that they are currently in talks with the people in the area to make them accept to leave the area.

In march 2010 More than 300 people were feared dead after heavy rain caused a series of landslides in the mountainous eastern region of Bududa in Uganda.
