34 million shillings goes missing on Makerere Guild account

MakerereUniversitystudents Guild leadership is in total trouble after over 34 millionUgandashillings went missing from the guild account.

Sources have told our informers that the dime went missing last week and the police have started probing the disappearance of this huge some of money. An informer with Uganda Police has told our news desk that they are probing the signatories of Makerere Guild account in Stanbic Bank.

The current signatories on Makerere Guild account are Guild President Onekalit Dennis Amare, Dean of students, Cyriaco Kabagambe, and Guild Finance Minister, Isaac Lakuna. The police according to the detectives are to question the university’s chancellor, Prof. Venancious Baryamureeba and the stanbic bank workersMakerereUniversitybranch. More details are to follow

Police deploys again at Besigye’s home

There is still heavy police deployment around the farm of Uganda’s main opposition leader, Col. Kiiza Besigye in Kasangati.

But this time the police are not in the compound of Mr. Besigye or toilets as it was the case last time. We have been told by the detectives that the police officers have been told to besiege Besigye’s farm in Kasangati such that he doesn’t move on foot.

When our informer visited Besigye’s home this afternoon, he saw a police vehicle registration number UP 2958 parked opposite Besigye’s home. Most of the policemen deployed around Besigye’s home dressed in civilian clothes.

The police had recently withdrawn its officers from the home of Besigye although their commander, Sam Omara told journalists during their departure that the police had left Besigye’s home just to get lunch and come back.

Forum for Democratic Change gets $2.5m from Norway

Uganda’s main opposition party, FDC has got 2.5 million US dollars from Norway to run its anti government activities. The detectives at CMI have told us that the money was wired to FDC accounts in centenary bank on Saturday.

A source at the FDC villas in Najjanankumbi has also confirmed that they have got the money from Malaysia and Norway and this source was quick to deny that it was going to be used in running anti government campaign.

“It is true we received 2.5 million US dollars from Norway and Malaysia last week respectively and we shall use this money to mobilize our supporters and members around the country,” a source says.

Sheikh Ibrahim Kasozi, the FDC official in charge of Youth affairs says that it is normal for a party like FDC to receive grants from abroad so this money should not raise the eyebrows of the CMI.
