Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management Scholarships: Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) provides scholarships for:

8-months Diploma Course for higher qualification offering specialization in: Hospitality Management, Tourism Management.
9-months Teachers Training for further qualification of lecturers in the tourism field.

Scholarships Cover:

Tuition Fee, insurance, food, pocket money for full scholarship also accommodation and travel expenses with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), Government of Salzburg, and Salzburg Economic Chamber.

Country of Origin for Applicants:

Developing countries from Africa, Asia andLatin America. Priorities to applicants from the partner countries of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and from LLDCs.

Scholarships Eligibility and Deadline:

A-Level, high school certificate or equivalent, at least one year experience in tourism industry, professional training is an advantage.
A-Level, high school certificate or equivalent, at least one year teaching experience for teacher training applicants.

Why few Lawyers graduate at LDC?

Over 474 lawyers on Thursday received their post graduate diplomas from the Law Development Centre.

Out of the 474, 270 were awarded Diploma in Legal Practice while 203 received Diploma in Law.

The number of graduands at LDC continues to dwindle, something attributed on the reduced number of admissions.

In 2011 a total of 480 lawyers graduated at LDC compared to 698 in 2010.

The Speaker of parliament, Rebecca Kadaga presided over the graduation ceremony. One must pass all LDC papers to appear on the graduation list.

Evan Lewis-Thomas Law Scholarships: The Council of Sidney Sussex College offers annually, for men and women of any nationality, a number of Evan Lewis-Thomas Law Studentships for research or advanced courses in Law or cognate subjects in the University of Cambridge.

The Evan Lewis-Thomas Law Studentships, which are subject to reviews of diligence and progress, are tenable for one year in the first instance but may be renewed annually, up to a maximum of three years.

Their value depends on the candidate’s needs in the light of support from other sources and on the availability of income from the Evan Lewis Thomas Fund.

Under the terms of the will of the late Judge Evan Lewis-Thomas, candidates must have shown proficiency in Law and Jurisprudence, normally by obtaining a university degree in Law, and they must be or become candidates for the Ph.D. Degree, the Diploma in Legal Studies, the Diploma in International Law, the M.Phil. Degree (one-year course) in Criminology, or the LL.M Degree.

Law Scholarship

If candidates of sufficient merit present themselves, elections will next be made to up to five Studentships (of between £1,000 and £3,000 per annum, reduced to £1,000 if full funding is obtained from another source).

Election to a Studentship may be made conditional upon satisfactory results in degree examinations and is in all cases conditional upon the person elected being accepted by the Board of Graduate Studies if he/she is a candidate for the Ph.D. Degree, the M.Phil. Degree or a Diploma, or by the Degree Committee for the Faculty of Law if he/she is a candidate for the LL.M. Degree.

Masters, Postgraduate Diploma studies, at University of Nairobi

Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Fund Scholarship: The Gandhi Smarak Nidhi fund will offer a limited number of partial scholarships tenable at the University of Nairobi, for Masters and Postgraduate Diploma studies.

Interested candidates are invited to apply for the scholarship by filling in a formal application/re-application form available in Room A2 Administration Block, Main Campus at a non-refundable application fees of Kenya Shillings Five Hundred Only (KShs. 500.00) paid to the Student Finance Office, University of Nairobi.

Applicants must attach to the completed form a letter of offer (Notice of eligibility) to study at the University of Nairobi at postgraduate level for a Masters/Postgraduate Diploma (not PhD) course under the regular programmes and must have attained at least an Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent at Bachelors Level.

Deadline for Applications: 6th August

Women Scholarships in degree and Diploma

Theological Education Fund for Women Scholarships: The WARC Scholarships help women prepare for ordination.

The main purpose of the scholarship fund is to increase the number of women in the ordained ministry and to enable women from a wide network of Reformed churches in the South to build their capacity for effective partnership in God’s mission.

The Theological Education Scholarship Fund for Women in the South provides for first degree or diploma studies which are done at a seminary or college in the home country or region of scholarship awardees.

Since launching the Theological Education Scholarship Fund for Women in the South, WARC has supported women from Argentina, Brazil, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guyana, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Africa, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda and Venezuela.

Scholarship Guidelines:

Scholarships are to be available to women of any age pursuing a first degree/diploma in theology (Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor of Divinity) towards ordained ministry.
Scholarships are to provide opportunities for studies within the home country or region.
Priority will be given to member churches with a low number of ordained women in the church.
Applicants must provide detailed statement of need, other funding sources, and information on institution/place of study.
Applicants must provide a budget: tuition fee, food and lodging, travel, books and other necessities.
Applicants must specify the period of studies.
The scholarship support is based upon need and covers partial or full costs.

Task description

You will carry out research and develop or investigate new and improved statistical methodology relevant for data and research topics of developing countries.
Under the co-supervision of a partner in the South, you will take part in the South-North research collaboration and contribute to the local capacity building in the South. You will defend a PhD within a 6 years period.
You will carry out applied research within the I-BioStat consultancy unit and transfer your experience, expertise, knowledge and skills to the South.

Profile

Being highly motivated to take part in the South-North collaboration and to contribute to the local capacity building in the South;
Being experienced in the use of statistical software such as SAS, R, StatXact, etc.
Enjoying working in an multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
Having finished or are currently finishing the ICP Master of Biostatistics;
Being intrinsically motivated, thinking analytically and creatively, working in an organised and focused manner and on an individual/independent basis, under the joint supervision of a promoter in the South and a promoter in the North;
Possessing excellent knowledge of the English language and good scientific writing skills;

Democratic Party spokesman Kenneth Kakande mesmerizes LDC students

He might have finished his law degree course in 2007 and failed to practice the discipline because he did not have a diploma in legal practice, but the DP spokesman, Kenneth Paul Kakande is still intelligent.

Recently the party helped the broke Kakande to go to LDC and get a diploma in legal practice such that he practices his course.

The good news from LDC where Kakande is pursuing his bar diploma is that the man has mesmerized fellow students with his lethal brain.

Kakande 48, is the oldest in class but he takes his studies seriously and that he is always among the first persons to submit his course work. We wish you the very best Ndugu Kakande.

Unfortunately by the time you will graduate, you might be at the age of 50, an age when most lawyers start thinking of retiring.

Scholarship Program: China Government Scholarship ‘Nanjing University Master and PhD Program”

Scholarship Description: Chinese Government Scholarship is a scholarship set up by the Chinese government to facilitate students and scholars from all over the world to conduct their study and research in Chinese universities. The scholarship aims to increase the mutual understanding and friendship between people of China and people from the rest of the world and to develop the communication and cooperation between China and the rest of the world in the field of Education, Technology, Culture and Economics.

Qualification:

1. Academic Background: Applicant must have completed a four-year undergraduate degree for master degree pursuer and a master degree or equivalent for PhD degree pursuer.

2. Chinese Language: Applicant must be willing to learn Chinese language, if applicable, and receive education in Chinese language.

3. Health: Applicant must be mentally and physically healthy.

*Students currently studying in China are not applicable. Students who have been granted for other Chinese scholarship or funding?2012-2013? are not applicable.

Applicants must log on the on-line application system to do an on-line registration and application [laihua.csc.edu.cn]. After fill in the application form on-line (facility code for Nanjing University is 10284), applicant must click the “submit” button and print out application from the application system. After the on-line application is complete, applicants must submit the following documents to the Scholarship Coordinator (address below) by the required date. The submitted documents will not be returned.

(2)?Certified true-copy of Academic transcript and Diploma of highest degree obtained (English Translation is need if transcript and diploma were in language other than Chinese and English)
