Uganda will not act individually as far as the conflict in Burundi is concerned but will follow the set procedures of the East African Community which will have been agreed on, he said. Kiyonga further noted that government, like it has done in the past, cannot deploy its troops in a foreign Country unless it’s authorized by the Parliament of Uganda at the request of the affected Country.

He dismissed reports that Uganda sent a contingent in Burundi to keep peace saying it’s not true.
