It seems Uganda is no longer the pearl of Africa. Uganda, the country preparing to celebrate her 50 years of independence is still ruined by diseases, corruption, embezzlement, human rights abuse and lack of drugs in hospitals.

For example we have just received shocking information that over 80 Hepatitis B patients in Uganda have been put on antiretroviral drugs due to lack of the required drugs needed to treat Hepatitis B.

Uganda’s District Health Officers led by Ann Adunia say that Ugandan hospitals have do not have drugs to treat Hepatitis B patients. She says that Uganda’s ministry of health ministry is aware of the problem but it is incapacitated to offer relief. Several people in Uganda die helplessly due to lack of hepatitis B drugs.

John Kapipi a resident says that whenever they go to the health centre they just sit under the trees only to hear from nurses that drugs are not available.

Kapipi says there children under 10 months have not received immunisaton drugs for five months which he says may lead them attacked by polio, tetanus, among other immune diseases.

Aliganyira Samuiri a resident also noted that they have resorted to go to Kyenjojo for immunization which is also tiresome as the health centre somehow far.

However sources reveal that the refrigerator used to store drugs is not in good mechanical conditions to keep the drugs at the required temperatures.
