]]> Kenya’s President, Mwai Kibaki has arrived inUgandatoday afternoon to receive a certificate of an Honorary Doctorate of Laws fromMakerereUniversity. The Kenyan president will pick the transcript on Tuesday this week.

 Kibaki will collect the certificate on the last day of the 62nd graduation ceremony ofMakerereUniversity.MakerereUniversity observed that Kibaki has distinguished himself as a visionary Kenyan statesman who has also spearheaded economic development, gender and educational reforms and political cohesion, so the institution awarded him a degree.

The university decided to honour President Kibaki on December 8th last year in recognition of his contribution to public service at national, regional and international levels. However many people in East Africa say Kibaki was not fit to get the honours from a highly recognised university in Africa due to his reported despotic leadership.
