]]> The people who have been planning to contest for president in 2016 should better read this first! An impeccable source at State House Nakasero has told this writer that there is a proposal for MPs to start choosing the country’s president. 

A source explains that this proposal is still under discussion. The ruling party wants the party with majority MPs to produce the president for the country.

 A source further explains that using the parliamentary system to choose the president will help the country to save the resources it has been using in organising presidential polls. 

The source also says that this will help NRM to remain in power for a long time because chances are high that it will remain with majority MPs. Even currently NRM has over 80% of the MPs in the 9th parliament.
