]]> We have been told that the security operative, Gilbert Arinaitwe Obwana reportedly assaulted his wife Beatrice Arinaitwe and she went into coma. Beatrice, we are told that she is nursing wounds in a Kampala hospital. Obwana is the man who last year sprayed pepper spray into Col. Kiiza Besigye’s eyes.

Gilbert Arinaitwe, also used his gun’s butt to knock out the windscreen of Dr Kizza Besigye’s car window before unleashing the pepper-spray and tear gas directly on Besigye’s face and body.

Obwana’s wife collapsed as the news of her husband’s actions reached her. We are yet to know the grounds under which Obwana beat his wife. Beatrice Arinaitwe, who is a lawyer by professional is now under the supervision of her family doctor in a Kampala hospital. Efforts to get a comment from Obwana were futile by press time. But we promise we shall look for him to get the comment.
