]]> The shadow minister for Information and official spokesperson for the party Wafula Oguttu has come out clear on the speculation that they will amend the party constitution to accommodate Besigye running for another term.

Talking to the press today at Parliament, Oguttu says the party constitution only bars one from running for the same office for more than 2 terms.

He also explains that in case one wants to run for a different office, they are free. He confirms that Dr. Besigye will not be party President again.

 

He says Dr Besigye may however run for Presidency because there is not such a thing as stopping one for running for such an office as long as the Party endorses him.

There has been wide speculation that Dr Besigye will not run for Presidency and that the party has been looking for a replacement.
