The Director of Works and Engineering at KCCA, Eng. Andrew Kitaka says many city roads and drainage system are to be worked on the six months.

Addressing journalists in Kampala today, Kitaka said that 8 out of 10 roads in the city are in a poor state and the city authority will work on the roads in phases.

He says they are starting with Ben Kiwanuka, Allen road, Nakivubo, Gaddafi, Mengo Kisenyi and Kafumbe Mukasa roads.

Eng Kitaka says that KCCA has signed a contract with Multiplex Contractors to undertake the 2.2 billion shillings project to rid the city of roads in a poor state.

Traders and community members in different parts of Kampala have in recent weeks held demonstrations over the poor state of roads in Kampala.
