Dr. Wapakabulo

In a search that commenced February of 2016, the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) has finally appointed a Chief Executive Officer. The company’s Board of Directors appointed Dr. Josephine Wapakabulo to the CEO position. UNOC was set up by Article 42 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) ACT 2013 and incorporated under the Company’s Act 2012. They had the Board inaugurated at the end of 2015 and then set out to find and recruit a CEO.

A statement signed by Emmanuel Katongole, the Board chairman, reads that Dr. Wapakabulo will lead the set up of UNOC and manage its transformation into a world class Oil and Gas company as the country prepares for commercial oil production. Wapakabulo is a registered Chartered Engineer and she brings to the company experience, energy, drive and enthusiasm.

Her appointment takes effect on 1st August 2016.
