ROSACEA is an inflammatory skin disorder in which the nose, the cheeks, the fore head and or the chin are chronically reddened and prone to breaking out in acne-like welts.

It is caused by repeated exposure to rosacea triggers such as alcohol, wind, sun, and low levels of stomach acids.

Constipation, a diet that is high in fat and low in fibre, food allergies, nutritional deficiencies especially of B vitamins, dysbiosis (imbalance of the gut bacteria), hormone imbalance, reaction to synthetic hormones.

The recommended food for Rosacea: Eat lots of raw foods. In their natural state, vegetables, fruits, nuts, sprouts and seeds all possess enzymes that help you convert food into the nutrients that are needed for the skin and circulatory health.

Drink several glasses of fresh vegetable juices a day, make sure that your diet includes plenty of fibre, essential fatty acids, reduce inflammation, a defienciency in vitamin B has been found in many people with rosacea. Brown rice, oats, wheat germ, whole grains bread and crackers are all good sources.

The symptoms of Rosacea are redness across the nose, the cheeks, the fore head or the chin. Some doctors at MulagoHospital told us that rosacea/ related diseases kill over 34 Ugandans in a week.

The chairman contracts committee of the ministry of health Jude Waswa has been handed over to the CID at parliament for questioning.

This was after Waswa failed to explain why the ministry went ahead to procure motor vehicle tyres before the decision of the contracts committee was communicated to the permanent secretary.

The committee is concerned that the contracts committee did not make any decision on this matter but the documents were forged by a group of some officials with in the ministry.

Committee members Vincent Kyamadidi and Gerald Karuhanga had tasked Waswa to explain why it took him two months to sign the documents that had been approved by the contracts committee.

The mps say that it was a trick for him to delay the procurement process so he could get kick backs first from the supplier.

The mps were also disappointed that the former head of procurement committee of the ministry of health Mohammed Segonga was transferred to head the procurement unit at mulago hospital after the permanent secretary of the ministry of health recommended that he was incompetent and unfit for the job.

The critics of president Museveni’s regime may wonder why the world doesn’t condemn the increasing cases of violence on civilians in Uganda.
When video footage a couple of years back showed the US marines urinating on dead Taliban soldiers, millions of people around the world came up and  condemned the act.
According to an article attributed to president Museveni in a thesis, it is alleged that the president mistreated the corpses of his enemies. The article was adopted from “The Real Museveni One Must Know.”
It is said that in 1971 paper “the Fanon’s Theory on Violence, its verification in liberated Mozambique”, President Museveni allegedly outlined many of the political beliefs and military doctrines that would shape his military career in future. The article in the thesis, focused on the violence as a political instrument.
On page 5 and 6 of the thesis, president Museveni is quoted as saying: “This is the interpretation Fanon put on the role of the revolutionary struggle, whose highest form is armed violence, in the lives of former colonial subjects. This is what I wanted to test in one Sub-Saharan area. I used Nangade district of Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique , as my experimental area. Nangade district is in North-Eastern Mozambique. The district is inhabited by a Bantu-speaking people, the Makonde. The Makonde, according to many reliable accounts, were considered fearless and brave people…But it is worth pointing out that the imperialists, and other bourgeois confusionists, hade been spreading the lie that the Makonde were ‘the brave people of Mozambique’; that the other tribes like the Nyanjas were soft people. This was a bankrupt way of looking at things. ”

Museveni is also put in this paper that he went among the Makonde people and subjected them to brutal violence in order to prove the point that the idea of bravery or cowardice is not inherent, but rather borne of conditions to which people are subjected.

But the writer of this thesis spells it out in grisly detail on page 8 when he notes: “Hence in Mozambique, it was found necessary to show the peasants there the fragments of a Portuguese soldier blown up by a mine or, better still, his head. Once the peasant sees guerrillas holding the head of the former master, the white man’s head cold in death, the white skin, flowing hair, pointed nose and blue eyes notwithstanding, he will know, or at least begin to suspect, that the picture traditionally presented to Mozambique people  of the white man’s invincibility was nothing but a scarecrow.”

Police have identified the black spots in Kampala which everyone must be scared of at night and in morning hours. They include Mawanda Road, Northern By Pass, along Nakivubo Channel, Nakulabye, Bwaise, Nateete, Ntinda Stretcher, among others.

The police have been sensitising the public and it is considering deployment after marking the black spots.

In Kampala Central division, the police are using CCTV motor vehicles which help to monitor the city; this is according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Ibin Senkumbi.

Senkumbi says that the black spots are not permanent and when Police identify one, the thugs shift their attention to another area. Many people have lost their lives in these named black spots. Like Dirisa Rwelekera, a 36- year-old boda boda cyclist, he is now lying in Mulago Hospital with severe head injuries, because two men hit him on the head with an object he believes was a hammer.

Rwelekera says the two unidentified men found him in Makindye division in Kampala and asked him to ride them to Nyanama, another Kampala suburb, where he later met his fate.

The two hit-men rode away with his motorcycle and all his belongs which were in the pockets. The police say that most thugs in Kampala are market vendors, motorcycle riders and unemployed youth.

There was drama in Mityana district in central Uganda on Tuesday when a man and officers of police fought over the head of a three-week old child that was recovered from a swamp in Namukozi-Piida LCI in Mityana town council on weekend.

The police have identified the man who fought with the police as Alex Semuyaba. The district CID Mityana, Ms Faith Apio says they recovered head of the child after a tip off from area residents.

The head is currently in Mityana hospital mortuary as investigations to establish the people behind the murder continues. Alex Ssemuyaga and his relatives claim the head belongs to their child who went missing a few days ago. Due to increasing cases of poverty and despotic political leadership in Uganda, some people have resorted to human sacrifice in pretext that the evil spirits may hear their prayers and give them wealth.

Human rights reports have been indicating that the security agencies in Uganda have been taking a centre stage in human rights violations in Uganda. But this evening President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Col. Stephen Basaliza, a soldier as one of the commissioners of the Uganda Human Rights Commission.

The colonel would be assisted by Violet Akurut Adome. According to sources in statehouse, Akurut and Col. Basaliza are expected to boost the capacity of the Human Rights Commission in Kampala.

The commission has had no commissioners for the last two years. The new commissioners were sworn in on Friday by the Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki. Basaliza has served in the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces as Director of Human Rights from 2007 to 2010 and in the Ministry of Defence from 1997 to 2001. He also served as MP in Uganda parliament for Burahya constituency (2001 – 2006) while Akurut was a Coordinator with the Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET).

Traditional leaders (witchcrafts) in Uganda want to visit Mecca and Medina. Mecca and Medina are holy cities in the Muslim faith. The traditional leaders preparing to visit Mecca and Medina are led by their head, Maama Fiina (Sylvia Namutebi). The traditional hemembers say that even if they believe and worship idols they remain people who have a right to visit Mecca and Medina.
But Sheikh Sulaiman Guggwa says that the intention by the traditional healers to go on pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina is a blasphemy to the Muslims communities around the world.
The Sheikh is a member of the committee that coordinates the Muslims pilgrimages in Uganda. Sheikh Gugwa describes the act by the witchcrafts as a breach of the foundations of Islam. He says that maama Fiina and his group members don’t believe in the five pillars of Islam.
The five pillars of Islam are giving alms (in Arabic read Zakat), fasting (during the month of Ramadhan), visiting Mecca and Medina, and praying five times a day and believing in One Allah (God).

Mama Fiina claims that she has a right to visit Mecca and Medina because she is married to a Muslim man and consequently converted to Islam. Mama Fiina is the head of traditional healers and owns a number of shrines in town.

Kampala Capital City Authority’s lord mayor Erias Lukwago is now full of smiles after all city councilors who had been bagged by KCCA’s executive director Jenifer Musisi Semakula are now back on track after chewing Musisi’s money.

Having taken Musisi’s money, the councilors and the lord mayor are organising to take Jenifer Musisi head on following her reported mismanagement of the city.

In the last secret meeting the lord mayor had with the councilor before he went to China they all agreed that they need to fight for their political sovereignty to avoid being swallowed by the technocrats in the names of Jenifer Semakula Musisi.

And upon realisation of this, rumours has it that President Museveni is about to replace Musisi with Annet Muhoozi who is Musisi’s deputy at the moment and she has been assigned to take over the entire administration of KCCA.

President Museveni has threatened to deal with media houses that fan and incite violence between the two rivaling Muslim factions inUganda.

The two rivaling Muslim factions are the Kibuli Mosque based faction headed by Sheikh Zubair Kayongo and the Old Kampala Muslim leadership led by the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Mubajje.

Museveni says that fanning and inciting violence between the two wrangling Muslim factions could degenerate into bloodshed. So the head of state warns media houses and individual journalists that continue to incite violence among the Muslim groups saying that such media houses risk punitive action from his government.

Museveni, according to sources, says that two newspapers in Uganda, The Red Pepper and The Daily Monitor, are deliberately exaggerating the wrangles among Muslim factions and inciting Muslims to go for war.
