United States of America’s Special Forces, elite Green Berets and Navy SEALS have declined to go deep in the jungles of the Central African Republic to hunt of LRA rebels and their leader, Gen. Joseph Kony.

According to the former LRA fighters Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces soldiers have been capturing in the Garamba forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo and in Obo forests of the Central African Republic, Joseph Kony is a military general in the LRA rankings.

Recently US deployed over 100 elite Special Forces in the forests of the Central African Republic to remove LRA rebels and their leader Joseph Kony from the bushes.

However we have been informed that the US forces together with their commander, Capt. Gregory, have declined to venture into the dense jungles of the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo to fight and locate Joseph Kony and his LRA rebels.

The US army is currently stationed at their operating bases in Obo (Central African Republic), Nzara (South Sudan), Djema (Central African Republic) and Ddungu (in the Democratic Republic of Congo near Garamba forests) only analysing intelligence information given to them by the UPDF soldiers.

Uganda soldiers are puzzled following intelligence information that the Khartoum government had started sending food items to LRA rebel leader, Joseph Kony.

Joseph Kony, according to intelligence network in Kampala is currently hiding in Northern Sudan controlled Bahr el Ghazal region.

Uganda’s army spokesman, Lt. Col. Felix Kulayigye says that the Northern Sudan government has also resumed arming the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels.

Col. Felix Kulayigye says that President Omar Bashir’s government is supplying guns, ammunition and uniforms to the LRA rebels.

A source in the Khartoum government says that Northern Sudan is supporting LRA rebels because Uganda is also supporting the Justice and Equality movement rebels who fight to overthrow the government in Khartoum.

Uganda also recently admitted that not so long ago it supported the former SPLA rebels against Omar Bashir’s government.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is prepared to charge Joseph Kony in case he has been arrested. Intelligence reports and the information the government is getting from satellites show that the LRA leader Joseph Kony is about to be arrested. As a consequence, Joseph Kony’s lawyers in Kampala have gone to Hague and settle with ICC a few issues.

A source tells us that Kony’s lawyer Caleb Alaka went to Hague on March 30^th on sponsorship of an International human rights group/ organisation and Samuel Muyizzi Mulindwa leaves the country on 2^nd April.

Sources tell us that Muyizzi and Caleb Alaka’s trip to Hague is intended to make them prepared to plead for LRA leader in case is truly arrested.

The Ugandan top criminal lawyers also have gone to Hague for a pre trial chamber of the ICC and they are expected to discuss several procedural matters and cases before this Court from the great lakes region and most especially matters touching the indictments of LRA top commanders.

They will also discuss the progress of the International Crimes Division (ICD) of the high court of Uganda, a special division created to try International related crimes and crimes against humanity.

The US soldiers helping Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan and the Central African Republic to hunt Kony would have bombed the place where Kony is hiding but doing this would lead to death of many people he is surrounded with.

A source in the UPDF further tells us that US wants to have Kony arrested alive such that he is taken to the International Criminal Court.

The Uganda and UN officials will meet in Entebbe next week to discuss how their secrets ended up leaking to the press.

The UN officials will also use the Kampala meeting to design a comprehensive regional strategy on combating the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels.

The UN meeting will take place on Thursday and Friday. The first UN meeting this year on LRA rebels took place in Kinshasha, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the month of January.

The countries directly affected by the atrocities of LRA are Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Southern Sudan and the Central African Republic.

Many people across the world have expressed mixed reactions about the content of the video about LRA war and its commander Joseph Kony being played in USA and Europe. Some Ugandans and Africans have welcomed USA’s interests in ending the bloody LRA war.

But others complain that when Joseph Kony was maiming people in the northern Uganda, killing them, forcing them out of their homes for years, kidnapping people, selling young girls and boys as slaves and at one time forcing some village to cook corpses and then forced them to eat them and then summarily killed everyone in South Sudan, the Americans and Europeans were almost mute and could only send in help in form of military trainers to the UPDF.

Now when Joseph Kony is no threat, the Americans have taken an active interest in him but some Ugandans suspect that the Americans might be targeting new oil discoveries in northern Uganda. It is rumoured that there is huge oil deposits in some parts of Northern Uganda.

In the documentary Russell does mention that Joseph Kony has moved on from Northern Uganda. Russell simply mentions that LRA war is one of the neglected conflicts in Africa. This is true; LRA is one of the neglected insurgencies in Africa.

Russell mentions that the Ugandan army (UPDF) is still trying to rout Joseph Kony and needs US help. This is also very true even if we (Ugandans) may not like the USA support.

If the UPDF has indeed made Kony a money-making machine for themselves using Kony as a trap, is it not better that Kony is neutralized so that the UPDF loses that particular escape goat? So Russell is the ‘white man’ saving Africans again – well if Africans will not do it why can’t we let humanity prevail whatever its color?

I hear Russell spends most of the money he raises on salaries, travel and other fun projects and not on the children of Northern Uganda. That is abominable and unfair, but this movie has given us the chance to expose him and perhaps improve accountability. We hope that unlike the Ugandan government he has a conscience! But again, what is making everyone hoping mad about Russell’s documentary?

However the LRA Video has got more criticism than praise on social networks like facebook, twitter and and youtube. Currently the LRA insurgency in Northern Uganda is no more and the people there are focused on Rehabilitation; Agriculture food security; modernizing Agriculture and answering Education challenges at all levels.

The US commandos are expected to help UPFD and other armies in the Great Lakes region to track down Kony and his rebels.

The LRA leaders including Kony are needed by the international criminal court over abuse of human rights and displacing thousands of people in northern Uganda from their houses. A source in the government which gave us this tip declined to tell when the commandos would get back to US or about when the regional army with the help of America will capture Kony.
