The ownership of the chogm ground has been granted to parliament by the Uganda land commission.

Recently KCCA had issued a directive to parliament halting construction of the new parliamentary chambers citing encroaching on CHOGM garden’s land.

This prompted parliament to seek the Uganda land commission permission to own this ground which was investigated and found out this public land was initially owned by the ministry of finance.

However reports indicate that KCCA is still  opposed to parliament shift from the original plan of the construction of the parliamentary chamber which is going beyond the original design.

The Director communication at parliament Chris Obore has confirmed this development after receiving a letter from chairman Uganda land Commission Baguma Isoke.
