Muhwezi who is also the MP for Rujumbura county sued the Law Council after it declined to grant him a practicing license over pending criminal charges he faces in court.

Muhwezi says he has all the relevant academic qualifications required of an advocate and that he remains innocent of the charges about abuse of office until proved guilty.

The MP argues that the Law Council made a decision on his morals without giving him a fair hearing.

Justice Musoke Kibuuka of High Court has now given the parties opportunity to settle the matter amicably.

The state attorney Henry Oluka told court that the meeting over the same was delayed by activities related to the ongoing international criminal court review conference.

Both Muhwezi and the Law Council will  return to Court on the 11th of June2010  to report on the progress so far made in the negotiations for an out of court settlement.
