The NRM leadership is now gambling with former MP Alintuma Nsambu whose relationship with Buganda Kingdom establishment is as sour as the word its self.

Sources tell us that Nsambu is expected to use his financial martial to battle it out with DP’s Mathias Nsubuga in a parliamentary by-election in Bukoto south, in Masaka district.

Meanwhile FDC is also in search for a candidate following a bitter verbal exchange with DP over EALA elections.

The seat fell vacant after the nullification of the former area MP Muyanja Mbabali over lack of enough academic papers. Nominations for the post are slated between 13th to 14th June, 2012.

The Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) ms Jenifer Musisi Semakula is a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement as well as a civil servant. As you may know the political hatred in Uganda amongst political parties is high, no one would expect that Ms Musisi would sit in a corner with the leaders of opposition Democratic Party and talk business.

But this happened. The president of DP Norbert Mao, Legal Advisor Mukasa Denis Fred Mbidde and DP secretary general Mathias Nsubuga on Tuesday met with Ms Musisi and they discussed issues concerning reconciliation and development of Kampala.

The meeting took place at City Hall building inKampala. Top on the agenda was to forge a good working relationship between Musisi and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. Lukwago did not attend the meeting because he is out of the country on official assignment. Ms Musisi told the DP squad that she has no personal vendetta with Lukwago. She explained that it’s Lukwago who seems to have a personal hatred on her. Mbidde says that after they have got the side of Musisi, they will also summon Lukwago to give them his views and after they try to reconcile the rivalKampalaleaders.

Uganda’s leading opposition leader, Dr. Col. Kiiza Besigye is again under preventive arrest at his home in Kasangati on Kampala Gayaza road. His home is surrounded by dozens of policemen and army soldiers in police uniform.

Besigye, also a member of Activists for Change (A4c) was suspected by the government to have had plans of addressing a press conference on police brutality at his offices on Katonga Road in Kampala.

The sources in police told journalists that the force feared that Besigye and his cohorts were going to expose cases of police brutality in which tens of Ugandans reportedly lost their lives. The sources said exposing such information to the public raises peoples’ emotions. However, the police worked on wrong information because the said press conference was set to be addressed by the A4C coordinator MP Mathias Mpuuga but not Besigye.

It looks the Activists for Change popularly known as A4C will soon be registered as a political party in Uganda. Currently Uganda has 38 registered political parties.

We have heard from very many supporters of A4C in different parts of the country requesting the A4C leaders including Col. Kiiza Besigye (FDC), Masaka Municipality MP Mathias Mpuuga and MP Betty Nambooze (DP) among others to register A4C as a political party in Uganda.

This is because A4C has managed to bring together members of different political shades like FDC, Justice Forum, DP, Conservative Party and SDP among others.

Ugandans who believe in activities of A4C argue that it is only A4C which can unite all political forces in Uganda a thing which the now defunct Inter-party Cooperation (IPC) failed to do. So when in 2016 you see A4C as one of the registered political parties/organisations in Uganda don’t raise your eye brows and developed high blood pressure!!!

Activists for change (A4C) rallies in Mbarara and Ntungamo district have left hundreds of people there excited and anticipating that president Museveni’s regime would end before 2016.

The A4C rallies were addressed by MP Mathias Mpuuga, Semujju Ibrahim, and political activists Ingrid Turinawe, Kazoora John, Jack Sabiiti and MP Roland Kaginda among others.

But the people at the rally were equally disappointed because Col. Kiiza Besigye was not at the A4C rallies in both Ntungamo and Mbarara. Besigye is currently in theUSAwhere he went to mobilize more funds to run A4C and FDC activities.

We have also learnt that Besigye has already met with key people in Barack Obama’s government, a move which has given the government officials inUgandasleepless nights.

The members of opposition are complaining that the ruling party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has created a ‘stone throwing group’ with a purpose of discrediting the rallies of action for change (A4C).

The coordinator of A4C Mathias Mpuuga says that the group is planted in opposition to throw stones at the police such that the force gets a chance to ban the A4C rallies.

The police last week warned to ban A4C rallies on grounds that the leaders of A4C have failed to control their members from being violent.

The Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura last week warned A4C to stop holding rallies without police permission. However Mathias Mpuuga says the government created the stone throwing group to discredit opposition.

Mpuuga says that the government and the Police own these stone-throwing men who disguise as opposition activists and throw stones at police and innocent citizens.

The rally was being organised by the Activists for Change (A4C) members. The venue where the rally was meant to take place is surrounded by soldiers and policemen.

The coordinator of A4C, Mathias Mpuuga has told journalists that the police told them that it cancelled the rally due to security reasons.

Our reporters in the area report that   there is heavy deployment in Katwe and the nearby areas. The spokesperson of police Asuman Mugyenyi says that they have intelligence information that some elements of opposition leaders were planning to use the rally to disrupt peace.

Things are getting worse forUganda’s opposition politicians and parties every day that passes. At first the police halted them from holding political rallies at Kampala City Square grounds, as if that was not enough, the same police has directed that any political gathering organised by the opposition has to first get clearance from Uganda Police.

In fact many members of opposition who have attended political gatherings that have not been cleared byUgandapolice have ended up in jail or tortured. The Inspector General of Police Lt. Col. Kale Kayihura has also instructed all opposition members intending to hold political rallies inKampalain future especially at Kalolo airstrip to first get clearance from the president’s office.

The MP for Masaka Central Mathias Mpuuga has confirmed that he has got a letter from Kayihura halting all political gatherings due to take place at Kololo (Kampala) Airstrip unless the president’s office as cleared such functions. Mpuuga however asks how the president’s office will clear a political rally that is going to expose the government’s wrongs.

Kadongokamu singer Mathias Walukaga is no longer in hiding after he openly declared last evening that he wants to join FUFA administration.

Walukagga, the SC Villa and Arsenal fan has been overheard telling pals in music industry that he wants to join FUFA such that he champions the declining growth of Uganda football.

And the singer’s desires could be real because in August this year he played for his Kasimba clan during the bika bya Baganda tournament.

He convinced the coach of Kasimba team to select him during their march against Nyonyi Nyange which they successfully beat 1:0.

Walukagga’s pals also tell us that the Kadongokamu star has been telling them for over long time that he wants to add on sports on his music career.
