The president o Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has announced that the government has declared a seven day mourning period to remember people who perished in Sunday’s three bomb blasts that rocked two Kampala suburbs watching the 2010 FIFA world cup finals.

According to Beatrice Wabudeya, the Minister for the Presidency, the seven day mourning period begins on Tuesday July 13th. She said in a statement that all flags at public buildings countrywide will accordingly fly at half-mast.

At least 74 people have been confirmed dead, including one American, 10n Eritreans and un indentified number of Indian.

Museveni who toured Lugogo Rugby club grounds where two bombs went up and Mulago hospital where most of the dead and causalities are receiving treatment said the government will work with its allies to track down and defeat the terrorists.

The Police in Uganda have released hotlines, which people can call to offer information to security personnel. They are: 0800199088 (CPS incident room), 0800199188 (Mulago Hospital Casualty Unit) and 0800199288 (Media Centre).
