The Electoral commission Chairman announced Beti Kamya as having fulfilled all the conditions for nomination as a prudential candidate shortly after 2pm to the jubilation of her supporters that were led by Kavuma Kaggwa the party advisor.

Kamya was proposed for nomination by her daughter Anthea Turwomwe and seconded by Francis Oneba, the vice president of the Uganda Federal Alliance.

Currently serving as Rubaga North MP on the Forum for Democratic Change ticket, Kamya broke ties with FDC and its leader Besigye and formed her own party, which at first she claimed was a pressure group to fight for the federal system of government.

Beti Kamya lashed out at other opposition parties for focusing on removing President Museveni from power, and said her Uganda federal Alliance will change the political system in the country.

She said the current bad governance in the country results from power concentration in statehouse which she says causes absolute leadership and bad governance and dictatorship. She says there is need for a system designed for Uganda, by Ugandans, for Ugandans in the best interest of all Ugandans, with her key focus being to move from the current unitary system of governance to a federal system of government.
