Late Kadugala died yesterday at the age of 140. He was born on 12^th January 1872. Kadugala has been one of the most influential members of his clan, village, Sub County, county and district. At the time he met his death, Kadugala could remember well the date, month and the year he was born. He could also tell his neighbours stories of how the British colonialists grabbed Land in Africa, violated human rights and divided people in Africa (Uganda) along tribal lines.

Mr. Kadugala, a resident of Kibula village in Luweero district, Bulemeezi County, in Buganda kingdom died in a night fire that gutted his house in which household property worth millions of shillings was lost.

The police detective on the scene told the press that the fire that ended the life of the oldest man in the world was started by the cigarette remains the deceased had reportedly lit.

Joseph Musoke, one of the grandsons of Kadugala described the deceased as the father of history and the nation whom Uganda, Africa and the world at large have lost. Other people have described Kadugala as a hero and that if the dead could raise Kadugala would have risen up and say good bye to his people. As it is known that African governments rarely respect old people, none of the government official has laboured to come to console the mourners yet the deceased has been a resource to many Ugandans.
