Police has banned screening series of Nazi Germany films in Kampala and across the country. The films banned are about the cruel trial of the former leaders of the Nazi political party in Germany .

The leaders were tried after the end of World War II. Police have learnt that some cinemas in Kampala since the beginning of this month have been screening the feature of the Nazi documentary.

The police detectives yesterday confiscated DVDs of the films banned and the operators of the film halls in which those DVDs were found were made to make statements at CPS in Kampala according to sources in CID. The DVDs police have confiscated had writings Nurembergs and others Nazi films.

The Nazi leaders were tried for crimes they reportedly committed against humanity from November 20 1945 to October 1st 1946. They were tried before the then international military tribunal that was set up by England and USA among other countries. The source said that the police banned its screening in Uganda for political reasons.

The Nazi film was written and completed in 1948 by Pare Lorentz and Stuart Schulberg. It was approved by the then US prosecutor and Justice of the US Supreme Court, Robert Jackson. By Moureen Nakyanzi
