Former Supreme Court Judge Prof. George Kanyaihamba has advised government to desist from appointing Political failures as Diplomats.

Speaking to Journalists at parliament Kanyaihamba said people who represent Ugandans abroad must be carrier diplomats and not those who are seeking for political rewards because they have failed to be elected during national polls.

He said diplomats must be people with high integrity who can defend the interests of the nation as professionals but not failures, an issue he says must be addressed by the appointing authority as a matter of urgency.

The political forces have been building up since Odo Tayebwa, the FDC man won Bushenyi-Ishaka axis. The seismic forces sent NRM reeling backwards and almost sank the party off the shores of Lake Victoria in Bukoto south.

Clearly something is amiss. The rigging and terror machinery was no longer a vote “winner”. The people had long seen through the facade of NRM tricks. More important the nation was progressively waking up and walking. Only NRM was deep in a slumber. For the last three weeks in Kasese woman MP by elections, Kasese was politically charged. The people in Rwenzori Mountains were rumbling. Col. Kiiza Besigye called this political environment as a political earthquake. Besigye says that the political earthquake is inevitable in Uganda and the people of Kasese are some of the most fearless groups of people in Uganda. But the government has failed to see that its intimidation, political arrests, harassment and torture was not going to work in today’s Uganda.

On the 8th day of August, 2012, a smiling FDC candidate in the Kasese woman district woman MP race, Winnie Kiiza, climbed to Stanley peak and did the impossible. She hurled down Museveni, his defence Minister Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen. Kale Kayihura and Gen. Aronda Nyakairima’s military machinery and the Museveni’s NRM was left to pick the election pieces.

On Chapter 25 of the book called the Prince, an Italian philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli compares fortune to a torrential river that cannot be easily controlled during flooding season. “Well President Museveni, it seems the people of Uganda withdrew their love from him a long time ago, now they have withdrawn their fear of him and they look prepared for political earthquake and tsunami,” Besigye says.

It seems some politicians should join comedy theatre factories and start producing jokes and make money. Comedy is currently one of the most growing entertainment departments in Uganda.

The comedy department is growing at almost the ‘speed of light.’ Perhaps due to the big audience of the comedy department, many politicians have been trapped into it. Apart from comedian Lubaga South MP John Ken Lukyamuzi who calls himself ‘the man,’ MP Betty Nambooze has felt suit.

She has threatened to close Kampala-Jinja road Highway if the police doesn’t explain to her why cars knock people on this road.

Nambooze has told police to come out with a statement explaining the rampant unexplained death in Mukono on Kampala Jinja road before she closes the road. But many people have termed Nambooze’s ultimatum to police as only political comedy, saying she has no powers to close a national road.

Many people inUgandawant to register new political parties but they are still not aware of the steeps needed to be undertaken to register a political party. So today we have decided to bring you the necessary steps needed to be executed to register a political party in Uganda.

The following are the steps: One needs to make a formal request in writing to the Electoral Commission expressing intention to register a political party.

The request should clearly indicate the Name of the new political party one wants to register, symbol, slogans and colours of the Political Party or political organisation.

The application forms for registering a political party must be obtained from the Electoral Commission. The applicants must also obtain from the Electoral Commission a Declaration of Assets and Liabilities and Particulars of the Political Party or Organization.

The application form must be returned to the commission when dully filled by the Applicant and endorsed by a Commissioner for Oaths. The copies of the party constitution must also be produced to the commission together with proof of payment of Deed fee. The applicants must further submit a list of the full names and addresses of at least 50 members of the new party/organization to be registered.

On receipt of the application the Commission will then embark on the registration process and cause independent inquiries to ascertain the correctness of the particulars submitted. The Electoral Commission registers new political parties within six months.
