Traders in Kampalaoperating along Kampala-Gayaza Roadtoday brought work to a standstill as they closed the Road in protest over load shedding.  

The angry demonstrators smashed vehicles while police looks on for sometime. However the police later acted when it gained the numbers of policemen it needed to take action.

The problem with Ugandan demonstrators most of them are militants and they stage tough resistance whenever there is a demonstration.

Moses Kaggwa, one of the demonstrators told our informers that they demonstrated because UMEME, the company in charge of supplying power has failed to serve them to their satisfaction.

The demonstrators threw stones at the police and made illegal blockade along the road. The police in the due course arrested tens of demonstrators and charged them with participating in an illegal assembly.
