There are still unconfirmed rumors that the NRM flag bearer will not attend the debate which the organizers have distanced but maintain that if he fails to appear then nothing will be done but to have those who will be present to articulate their issues.
The debates are slated for 15th January and early February this year and will mainly focus on national, regional and international issues.

The aspiring member of parliament for Kawempe North Robinnah Nanyunja has called on the presidential candidates for 2016 to focus on income generating projects for the people to sustain other government services in various sectors.
Nanyunja said that they should put programmes that will engage youth for labour production and desist from crimes as they look for survival. She said that although there is operation wealth creation for the people by government, it is not felt in the community, calling for better programmes that will lift poor people from absolute poverty. She attributes high levels of poverty among the people in Kampala to lack of enterprising programmes for job creation  targeting graduating and non-educated people.
She urged voters in the 2016 elections to trust their vote with leaders who have clear programmes for employment creation.
