Thousands of Muslims in Uganda are planning to match on US embassy in Kampala next week to protest against a US film that is said to insult Prophet Mohammad.

 But the security in president Museveni’s government vow to stop them from reaching the US embassy.

The anti United States of America protests have erupted in many countries this month of September 2012. In Libya, last week gunmen stormed the US Consulate in Benghazi, and killed many people including the US ambassador protesting against the US film that is said to insult Prophet Mohammad.

In Bangladesh, as another example, thousands of Muslims of the Khelafat Andolon group demonstrated but they were blocked from approaching the US embassy.

The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadan Mubajje has asked all Muslims wherever they are to come out and condemn in the strongest terms possible the film which demean, ridicule and belittle the Holly prophet of God, Mohammad (may Allah’s peace be upon him and his cleansed progeny).

He says that the film that was recently loaded on youtube by Americans was indeed an insult to Muslims.

Sheikh Ramadan says thatAmericashould come out and clear the air much as president Obama sounded apologetic about the film and the rage it has created in the Muslim world causing mayhem, sparking off endless demonstrations and burning US flags.

Last week the American ambassador toLibyawas murdered following this film depicting prophet Mohammad as a public nuisance.

The film sparked off world condemnation of the integrity of Americans by Muslims.

The WIKIPEDIA site has published the image of their beloved Prophet Muhammad (swaleh aleh wa salama. The Muslims believe that no physical representation of Prophet Mohammad should ever be made.

Sheikh Muzata Bate, a member of the breakaway Muslim faction based at Kibuli Mosque says that the reason Muslims don’t want pictures of prophet Mohammad printed is that it could well lead to idolatry.

The Muslim brothers and sisters are currently mobilizing Muslims on facebook to sign on the petition to have the picture of Prophet Mohammed removed.

They need 10,000 signatures to get pictures of the Prophet removed from WIKIPEDIA. Sources in the Muslim community in Uganda told our news desk that they petitioned wikipedea sometimes back but the pictures of Prophet Mohammed are still on the wikipedea website. The Muslims who want to sign on the petition should visit http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/removal-of-the-pics-of-muhammad-from-wikipedia 1.

The controversial information our reporters have got is that so far some of the people who have signed on the petition include non-Muslims. And another unfortunate thing is that the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Mubajje has not yet signed on the petition despite the fact that he is aware of the whole programme and agenda.
