Clinical trials to test the effectiveness and safety of virginal rings are being carried out currently in different countries around the globe. Some of the countries that have done these trials include Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

These virginal rings contain anti-retroviral drugs, which are inserted into the vagina in a bid to prevent HIV infection in women. The prostitutes around the world, especially in Uganda and Africa at large have already express happiness over the new discovery in the love making world. Ms Irene, one of the prostitutes on the streets of Kampala says that if the virginal ring trials become successful, it will be good news to prostitutes around the world who desire to get protection against infections.

These HIV trials worldwide are considered as one of the studies meant to Prevent HIV Infections. The scientists want to know whether this ring can safely prevent HIV infections when continuously put in the vagina before sex.

The trials are being carried out by doctors from Washington DC (US) and other countries. Some of the doctors running these trials are Carl W. Dieffenbach, Zeda F. Rosenberg. Saidi Kapiga, Sharon Hillier, Jarred Baeten, Linda Gail-Bekker, Annalene Nel, Philippa Musoke and Carol Onyango.

The doctors say that when the ring is inserted into the vigina it releases protective medication and it has no side effects like
reproductive toxicity.

The trials are funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious diseases (NIAID), the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute on Child Health and Human Development, the National Institute of Mental Health, the International Partnership of Microbicides. Microbicides are antimicrobial products applied to the vagina to prevent HIV transmission during sexual intercourse.

A Spanish company with branches in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Senegal, Botswana, and Zimbabwe among other countries in Africa and Asia is registering girls who wish to become prostitutes.

This Spanish company offers professional courses in prostitution. According to sources working for this company, the catch phrase of the prostitution course is that the course ‘guarantees’ jobs for graduates.

For just €100, students are taught the history of the world’s oldest profession, prostitution (fornication) and how to use erotic toys and the most popular positions contained within the Kama Sutra (prostitution or world sex).

One of the representatives of this company in Uganda, who did not to be named in this news story because prostitution is illegal in Uganda, says that before girls are deployed to work as prostitutes, they first undergo the series of theory and practical classes which enables them to become professional prostitutes. After the studies in prostitution, these girls with lithe bodies get deployed in Dubai, China, Malaysia, USA and Canada to work as prostitutes.

The report that was launched by the Uganda AIDS Commissions in Kampala shows that the increasing infections is due to the men who do not like to use protective measures when having sex with their non permanent partners or prostitutes.

Dr. Zainabu Akol says that when conducting the research they found that prostitutes move with condoms but men decline to use those condoms.

Dr. Kihumuro Apuuli, the director of Uganda AIDS commission says that the prevalence rate of HIV/AIDS among the prostitutes in Uganda now stands at about 37 percent.

Dr. Apuuli has advised couples to remain faithful and the pregnant women to always take HIV tests such that if they test positive the children are protected from mother to child HIV infections.

 The day was Wednesday and the venue was Kisenyi II parish when Buikwe east MP, Lulume Bayiga had gone there to check on his friend Moses Katabu. Katabu is the LC3 councilor representing Kisenyi to KCCA.

 We hear that while the MP was passing near a group of prostitutes they started calling him all sorts of sweet names. The MP kept quiet and kept on moving to Katabu’s home. Suddenly one of the prostitutes came as if she wanted to tell him something and grabbed his phone and ran away.

The time check was 7:00pm and by this time the prostitutes operating in Kisenyi are already moving all over the area looking for men to have sex with. The MP tried to ask the people around to help chase the woman but they all just looked at him.

The shocked MP went away prompting the on lookers to shout to him that he was now welcomed to the true life of people in Kisenyi.
