KadagaThe speaker of parliament asked the group of people who opposed her decision of retaining the four MPs in parliament  who had been expelled by the NRM party to apologize. This follows the recent Supreme Court ruling that Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga was constitutional when she refused to expel the rebel National Resistance Movement MPs from parliament after they were expelled by their party.
Kadaga while chairing parliament says that the former Attorney General Peter Nyombi , the member of parliament for Kibuku county Saleh Kamba, among others should apologize for wasting parliament time when they dragged parliament to court over retaining the  four MPs who include Wilfred Niwagaba ,Mohemmad Nsereko ,Barnabus Tinkasiimire and Theodore Sekikubo  after being expelled from NRM party.

The  Supreme Court has ruled that Members of Parliament do not lose seats if expelled by their political parties.
Kadaga says that the four members should think about returning on the side of NRM party in parliament. The government chief Whip Ruth Naknkabirwa welcomed  the four mps to their party seats as one of the four MPs, Theodore Sekikubo, said in all they went through parliament is the winner.

Two NRM rebel Members of Parliament are seemingly plotting to return their nomination forms at the party headquarters. This as the party delayed to have a common understating granting them authority to be entirely accepted into the party.

Sources indicate that the Central Executive committee was supposed to meet the Chairman of the party and approve their nominations but since their last meeting with President Yoweri Museveni no such communication has been received.

The Two MPs out of the four rebel MPs, Theodore Sekikubo and BarnabusTinkasiimire, have said that if they do not get any communication from the Party they will storm NRM party offices and return their nominations forms, basing on the party Chairman’s earlier letter given to them for picking nomination forms.

Reliable sources told this reporter that the NRM secretary General Justine Lumumba Kasule has been trying to reach the party Chairman over the matter since the beginning of this week to meet these MPs to resolve the impasse but there is no go ahead. However, the other two NRM rebel MPs, Wilfred Niwagaba and Mohamed Nsereko, are considering to bury NRM party and contest on independent ticket citing foul play in the process .

Four MPs, Theodore Sekikubo ,Muhammed Nsereko Wilfred Niwagaba , and Barnabas Tinkasimire ,  were expelled from the party for breaching rule 4 of the NRM’s code of conduct, which prohibits party MPs from going against party positions.

In our first news report we told you that FDC has branded some of its MPs in the Uganda ninth parliament as rebels. The rebel MPs in FDC we are told are those FDC members who criticise the party president Col. Kiiza Besigye whenever he goes wrong. Like in NRM, Besigye doesn’t want people to challenge him even when he makes an open mistake. In our first issue we told you that some of the rebel MPs in FDC are Reagan Okumu, Nabillah Sempala and Geofrey Ekanya of Tororo Municipality.

Besigye’s camp in FDC reportedly started witch-hunting Okumu and group in February last year after the general elections.  The problem of FDC rebel MPs started when they asked Besigye to quit politics after he lost the presidential bid thrice.

Okumu and group reportedly told Besigye to step down and get replaced by a person who doesn’t come from western Uganda where Besigye and Museveni hails from. In what looks like a punishment, Okumu was dropped as chairperson of the committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises. He was also dropped from the shadow cabinet.

Ekanya was also dropped from the post of chairperson of the Local Government Accounts Committee, a post he held in the 8th Parliament. Nabillah too is witch-hunted because she supported Okumu’s proposal to have Besigye out. In retaliation the FDC rebel MPs have also vowed not to support party activities.
