Police are ready to crush the massive and deadliest civil disobedience come Sunday 22nd July 2012. The police sources have told us that intelligence reports it receives indicate that the leaders of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) are planning to storm Kampala City Square and launch an armed attack on the legitimate government of Uganda.

But the police circles have told us that they and the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces will not let FDC and its president, Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye to antagonize peace in Kampala.

FDC leaders have spent the whole of this week secretly mobilizing their members within Uganda and the diaspora to walk to the city square on Sunday and launch what they have termed as ‘regime change.’

The FDC party leadership has been requesting mainly youths to join the regime change crusade. This opposition party wants riots to kick off in Kampala the way it occurred in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and now Syria.

Otunnu says Ugandans need to join the struggle such that they restore sanity in their country. Otunnu says that the government inKampalahas walked away from its duties of working for the people.
The former UN Diplomat says that the gap between the rich and poor people inUgandais widening. The truth on the ground is that the difference between people who have money in volumes and don’t know what to do with it is unimaginable. And this has turned most families inUgandato become beggars.
Otunnu further says that due to torture and impoverishment Museveni’s regime has conditioned people to accept things the way they are and not see things the way they should be. InKampala, for example in September 2009 the UPDF and the police openly shot dead unarmed demonstrators and since that time nobody has been held accountable.

Today in history! It was like today when the soldiers under the Milton Obote II regime reportedly split pregnant women’s bellies.

The LC5 chairperson of Luweero district, Hajji Abdul Nadduli recalls that during that time some people had their hands and lips cut.

He also recalls that some soldiers in Obote II regime would rape women and go away without being charged.

Nadduli likens the acts of Obote’s soldiers with those of LRA rebels. He says that LRA soldiers reportedly rapped women, kidnapped people and displaced millions of others.

Col. Kiiza Besigye, the head of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is one of the freedom fighters in Uganda. Besigye, a retired soldier of Uganda Peoples Defence Forces is currently in USA where he has met with dozens of Ugandans who fled the country due to reported silent mistreatment of opposition politicians in Kampala.

Besigye, the man who has given president Museveni sleepless nights has reportedly urged women and men of Uganda who live in USA and Europe to add their voices to the voices of Ugandans in Uganda who fight so hard the said dictatorial regime of president Museveni.

He briefed them that in Uganda the members of opposition are not allowed to walk while going for work yet over 98% of Ugandans don’t own cars.

Besigye told them that the moment police find poor people in the morning walking for work it shoots them with tear gas canisters and live bullets. In the due course many people including babies have lost their lives.

The outgoing president of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Col. Kiiza Besigye has said that Uganda may have a regime change in 2012.

Addressing members of FDC in Kampala at City House building in Kampala Central division, Besigye encouraged all his supporters no matter of their cultural, religion, economic or education background to get ready to receive the regime change.

He says that he has a vision that the anticipated regime change will be peaceful so Ugandans should not tremble about it. Besigye says that President Museveni has noticed that he has failed to fight corrupt, nepotism, bad leadership, intimidation, harassment of opposition members among other forms of injustices so the president is likely to willingly quit power in 2012.

Besigye says that he knows when he foresees regime change the security operatives will haunt him but he is not scared.

The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority Jennifer Musisi has said that the bureaucratic tendencies under the Procurement law are frustrating its operations aimed at making Kampala a better city.

She was responding to concerns that KCCA is doing little to solve the situation of big potholes and water logged ditches in the old taxi park.

Musisi says that the past regime at City hall had given out contracts to developers to build buildings in most of what makes up the Old Taxi park.

She also says that whereas the Authority has tried to execute its plans and programs of ensuring the city is kept clean and well managed, it is limited by the strict provisions of the Procurement law.

She said that the authority cannot easily access spare parts for the road maintenance equipments or buy the necessarily material to fix the potholes within a short period of time as many people would like.

Musisi also added that KCCA is facing a challenge of inadequate staff to efficiently execute its programs.
